Hallmark K9

As a trainer, I have definite equipment that I like and then what I must have for competition and the training of my dogs.  I have gone through the discontinued, can't get that anymore, quality control issues or on backorder for months routine with other equipment companies.  With Jim Hill and his staff at Hallmark K9 I feel all my needs are being met with the highest quality equipment.  His large inventory that he keeps stocked at his facility means you are going to find what you are looking for today.  The support that he and his staff give to our sport as well as the police and military community just keeps growing.  Visit their website, or give Jim a call to discuss your specific needs.

Options Plus, Inc.

When I take in client's dogs for training as well as the home of my own dogs, I want to ensure that their kennels are of the best quality and safety.  Options Plus, Inc. is a manufacturer of high quality kennel panels that you can build to suit your individual needs.  (Not chain link)  The sales staff is extremely knowledgeable about working dogs and individual problems of containment.  They sell many items to Police K9 departments throughout the United States.  The whole experience with them from choosing which series is best to shipping and receiving  was easy and hassle free.  Their quick response time was really terrific.  I  like to pass along companies like this that have high-end products at great prices.  Visit their website and see what I mean.

Platinum Pet Foods

http://www.platinumpetfood.com

A European Revolution.  I found out about this food on my trips to Germany.  My friend and trainer feeds this.  It has recently come into the American marketplace.  I have mostly Belgian Malinois and one German Shepherd with major food allergies.  The goal to get all of them on the same food has been VERY difficult.  Through much research and trials, I have found that Malinois do better on a low fiber diet as opposed to most of the dog food diets out there.  I wish I could tell you why technically, but all I know is what I see from them.  Platinum Dog Food is not a kibble.  It is not a wet food.  It is a food that my dogs actually have to chew instead of inhale.  One page on their website was very interesting to me as well.  I have seen this happen with my dogs: http://http://www.platinumpetfood.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=6&chapter=0

Their use of the freshest ingredients and the process in which they produce the food is by far a new revolution in dog food production and one that will set the bar for all others to follow.  I have seen first-hand dogs that would walk away from kibble and from the first time with this food, eat all of it.  (Right, Vito!, aka the dog that would not eat dog food)

Visit their website to read more or contact me directly for more information.

Respond Systems, Inc.

www.respondsystems.com

Visage was injured while hitting the wall as he does for the retrieve last year in Germany training for the FCI World Championships.  When we returned home, I sent his x-rays to the head of Sports Medicine at Auburn University, Dr. Gillette.  Visage was diagnosed with having a sesamoid problem in his left rear foot.  An extremely painful injury that typically is seen in thoroughbred racehorses and racing greyhounds.  It has been treated in the past by injection only as the sesamoid bones are smaller than a pea.  Dr. Gillette did say there was a new treatment they had been trying with much success in racehorses.  Laser therapy.  If I could get one, he felt it would be worth a try.  With the help of Doreen Hudson, VP of Respond Systems, Inc., two months of laser therapy completely healed the injury.  In fact, when I spoke with Dr. Gillette while he was looking at the post therapy x-rays, his first words were, "Is this the same dog?"  Laser therapy is being used for a wide range of problems.  From bone injuries and arthritis to muscle and skin problems.  It is a painless, in evasive treatment that really works.  Find out more by visiting their website.

Deborah Gross Saunders, MSPT, OCS, CCRP is a physical therapist.  She does a great deal of work with all kinds of sport and working dog related injuries.  She is well versed in all the working breeds and has the ability to know how to treat and converse with you in terms you can understand.  She was invaluable to me with Visage's injury, not only in finding a smaller than a pea size bone over the phone, but to the exact points of soreness where he was compensating from the injury.  Visit her website, you never know when you might need her help.
